You describe the business and what is bothering you about the numbers. We ask a handful of questions, most of them about cash and about who currently does what in your finance function. By the end of it you will have two or three specific things worth fixing, whether or not you ever work with us.
If it is clear you do not need a CFO, we say so on the call and tell you what you do need instead, which is quite often a better bookkeeper or a controller rather than us. If there is a fit, the next step is the free financial health check, and only after that does anyone talk about a fee.
Bring your last management accounts if you have them. If you do not have any, that is useful information too and worth saying on the call.
